There’s a new park in town, and Art C. Klein Construction has partnered with Concrete Couch  to help bring the project to life. Concrete Couch is a local non-profit dedicated to working with kids and community groups to create public art, to build community, and to create environments and experiences that humanize our world.

Concrete Coyote is the name of a new community park established through the purchase of a 5.61 acre parcel of land by Concrete Couch using a Community Development Block Grant. Though still in the process of becoming a park, the location at 1100 S. Royer in Colorado Springs has already hosted nearly 2,000 free classes thanks to Executive Director Steve Wood and the many, many volunteers of Concrete Couch.

Through an employee of Art C. Klein, Steve Wood connected with Director, Client & Community Services Diane Miller, and within a few weeks a donated trailer was delivered to the site. Art C. Klein even brushed up the trailer, repairing tires and providing the tow to its new home. The trailer serves as the offices for Concrete Couch. “The trailer gets used every single day,” said Wood. “In fact, during a recent art class, the kids painted the new ‘office’.” Wood has been very pleased with the amount of community support he has received from so many partners in the area.

Diane Miller thinks it’s a worthwhile partnership, too. “We have made this community our home for the past 50 years and are happy to find opportunities to give back to the place that has given us so much,” said Miller. “Art C. Klein’s tag line  –  Quality. People. Projects. Relationships applies not only to the work we do, but also to the work that so many non profits do in Colorado Springs and beyond. We are happy to be involved in this community park project and look forward to watching it grow.”
